Simple Reiki Healing Hand Positions

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Reiki is an amazing system that offers not only a great way to meditate, but long term healing as well. These treatments are so powerful that almost immediately one can feel relaxation from stress along with a reduction in pain associated with many diseases and illnesses. Someone seeking a Reiki treatment must be open to receiving it or it may not work. So if you’re in need of a treatment, you need to be willing and open to receiving the positive energy that the Reiki Practitioner offers.

These aren’t complicated to give but there are some simple hand positions that Reiki uses for healing. Many practitioners just listen to their intuition as they move their hands along someone’s body. This is how the healing energy is passed to the recipient.

First of all, the area in need of healing is found by putting your hands in the position of scanning the recipient’s body. The Reiki Practitioner will locate any different sensation and know that’s the area to focus on. It’s possible to feel various sensations like heat, cold, pulsing or even no sensation. It’s also important to know that the recipient of the treatment may not feel any of the sensations.

When healing, your hands need to be about 2 to 4 inches from the recipient’s body. Hold them in a cupped position, fingers bonding tightly and thumbs pulled against the hand in an upward position. This ensures the recipient is in direct line for the positive energy.

Note that the best Reiki position is lying down. It ensures that the recipient is totally at ease and can take in the positive energy. Fighting or opposing this energy will make the treatment useless.

Start a treatment with examining the head. Your hand covers the middle of the forehead to begin the treatment and ends at the feet. The Reiki hand positions are quite important for healing to take place. In addition, remember that once you have placed your hand on the recipient’s body, don’t break this contact. Move your hands gently and fluidly so you don’t disturb the treatment.

If you use these suggestions for simple Reiki healing hand positions, your confidence will increase regarding the flow of positive energy.

Use Reiki to Bring Down High Blood Pressure

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

A significant number of both men and women are affected by high blood pressure. In some cases, even children are diagnosed with it. While high blood pressure, also known as hypertension, can be a dangerous disease, it can be controlled. Most doctors prescribe medications that are designed to decrease high blood pressure. However, this is also something that you, yourself, can control. It has been found that, through the use of Reiki, blood pressure can be effectively reduced to a healthy level.

If you’re not familiar with the term Reiki, it is a system that was created by a Japanese theologist, Dr. Mikao Usui. It is a flexible system and can work for anyone. It is a natural healing system and, when successfully performed, can bring about physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional healing. While it will help you to bring healing to yourself, you must also be completely dedicated to using the system correctly. Otherwise, it will not be effective.

Reiki treatments can be used to give you more energy. This is something you will notice particularly if you have been feeling lethargic. It will also work to calm you in the event that you have been afraid or anxious about something.
Reiki can be used to restore good health and maintain it. One of its many benefits is that it can work to relieve tension and stress. It brings about relaxation by prompting the natural healing abilities of the body.

One of the greatest things that Reiki can accomplish is providing the extra energy a body needs to recover from an illness. The body’s vitality is increased while also delaying the process of aging.

Reiki is conducted through the hands. It allows for a natural flow that comes from The Source into the patient’s body. The Reiki practitioner is the conduit for this energy. He or she is correcting the imbalances that are present due to the Life Force Energy being disrupted.

The practice of Reiki is very powerful although the energy used is gentle. You may want to look into how Reiki could help you control your high blood pressure. A treatment will eliminate most of the symptoms while restoring good health and correcting imbalances.

Use Reiki to Relieve Rheumatoid Arthritis Pain

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

There’s nothing quite as uncomfortable as pain from Rheumatoid Arthritis. This pain is annoying, physically debilitating and just overall depressing. Things that you used to be able to do with no problem are suddenly next to impossible to do. Even such simple activities as peeling potatoes or taking a walk can become challenging. Cleaning your shower and bathtub can be so physically tormenting that you fear what the next 10 years will bring.

If you’ve been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis by your doctor through blood work and a referral to a Rheumatology Consultant, you’re probably taking a combination of various medications. These will be meant to keep down inflammation and pain while trying to slow the ruthless attack that your immune system launches on your body. Granted, you DO need something to help you manage this disease, but does it all have to be from medication?

Being on medication is something that you are most likely used to, and if you’re lucky, the medications you’re on will bring you some relief without many side effects. However, once you start reading about what the long term effects of some of these medications are, you’ll probably start to worry. On top of that, some of your medication might just make you feel worse than the Rheumatoid Arthritis itself. There will also be days that no matter what you do the pain refuses to leave. These are the days you just want to throw in the towel.

Consider trying Reiki to help you cope with the pain from Rheumatoid Arthritis. It’s a non-invasive treatment that can be conducted by anyone. You can visit a Reiki practitioner or you can learn how to do to yourself and have a treatment whenever it’s needed. If you choose to do this on your own, you’ll need to receive an attunement by a Reiki Master.

This can be done in person, at a distance, or by yourself with the guidance of an experienced Reiki Master.
Once you give Reiki a try, you’re going to most likely want to seriously study it yourself. It’s been shown that Reiki manages the pain. In addition, the effects of a treatment take place quickly and last an entire day.

Understanding the Reiki Master Symbol

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Reiki practitioners use a Reiki Master Symbol when conducting a healing or performing an attunement. There are different symbols and additional symbols used in the various Reiki systems. The Usui Reiki symbols are the ones that were revealed to Mikao Usui when he completed his 21 day fast.

Many people believe that the Reiki symbols need to remain secret. Still, other people are quite willing the share the symbols. However, these people won’t explain how to use the symbols until the student has paid for a class. There are Reiki masters that require a fee to heal and perform attunements. Other masters believe that the healing power is within everyone. These masters will teach someone how to tap into that power but only after being paid a fee. Actually, it’s a Reiki tradition to charge a price.

Legend says that Mikao Usui initially conducted healings in poor sections of Kyoto, Japan for free. He used Reiki to help homeless people get jobs so they could go back to work and get rid of the begging lifestyle. Usui was highly disappointed when many of those he had helped gradually went back to begging. He questioned the beggars and meditated about things. Finally, he arrived at a solution.

It became clear to him that by donating his help for free, the people didn’t appreciate the value of the treatments. This makes perfect sense because most people protect something they’ve paid for but aren’t as eager to take good care of something that was free. Usui closed down his practice and started traveling all over Japan teaching Reiki. He made it clear that Reiki should never be simply given away.

During his travels, Usui understood that the Reiki symbols shown to him at the end of his fast on Mount Kurama were meant to help others learn Reiki. When a student reached the Master level, he or she was awarded the Reiki Master symbol, also called the Usui Master symbol. Master Mikao used other Usui Reiki symbols to show his students how to concentrate on parts of Reiki energy.

Reiki masters tend to debate the Usui Reiki symbols’ power. However, most agree that the symbols themselves are powerless. They’re only used for focus.

Reiki and Yoga: The Full Connection

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Both Yoga and Reiki are considered to be paths to attaining Enlightenment. While many people practice both of these, not everyone realizes that they go hand in hand to provide the complete experience for mind and body. The connection between the two of them is so total that, together, one can reach a much higher state of enlightenment than by practicing just one.

First of all, Reiki was developed by a Japanese man named Mikao Usui in the 19th century. He was searching for his own spiritual enlightenment when he found that he could channel energies that dissolved physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental blocks present in others’ energy systems. By attuning the energies of others, he was able to help them also open this energy channel. Reiki practitioners are able to heal through this energy.

Yoga was developed 5,000 years ago in India. It is made up of 8 branches each named differently. There are simple rules to live by, physical positions, breathing lessons, and developing the ability for deep meditation. These are needed to achieve the highest spiritual enlightenment.

Spiritual enlightenment is attained when you realize you’re part of a bigger picture, and that you have a unique connection to the Universe. While this is a simple explanation, it’s also difficult to understand. Many books have been written on the subject to help with understanding.

The connection between Reiki and Yoga is basically that both are spiritual disciplines. Either of them will produce the desired results but that will happen only after lots of perseverance and dedication. While the results may be demanded immediately, they just will not come without some work. It takes patience and determination to reach the end of the road. At the end, there is a decision to make and then a new journey begins. More people are realizing this today than 100 years ago and you can find help along the path if you look for it.

Once you have the key, you’ll wonder how you never saw it before. It was always there but you just never knew how to use it. Reiki and Yoga are particularly designed to assist you in finding your key. You just have to search for it.

Understanding the Healing Capabilities of Reiki

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Reiki is an old healing method from ancient Japan in which the Reiki healer acts as a proverbial lightning rod for spiritual energy. They take this energy through themselves and deliver it into another as a positive energy that serves to aid in the healing and recuperation of the recipient.

It helps to cleanse blockages in the soul so that the spiritual energy may resume flowing through the body with ease. When clots are formed in the soul, it can slow the workings of the mind and body and throw the person off center, just as an illness to the physical body can make them fretful and sad. When a part of them takes a hit, the other parts of that person, will get the aftershock.

When a person’s spiritual flow has been blocked, their lack of will to recover slows the body’s natural healing processes dramatically. This is where a Reiki Healer will come in. They will lightly hold their hands over a body that has been put at ease, and direct the spiritual energy into the wounded person.

The relief of stress will cause the person’s ache to lighten. This will make the person’s will to recover strengthen. When stress and anxiety take hold on the soul, it can very negatively affect the will power of the afflicted. With Reiki treatments, however, it can become easier to cope with life as it is presented to you.

In a sense, everyone is a part of Reiki, and is capable of the ability to spiritually heal another or themselves to some degree. For example, when you would get a cut or a bruise, and mother would kiss it and make it all better. It may not physically heal the wound, but it heals the fear you felt from it, making it seem not all that bad. Reiki is an advanced and controlled form of this.

If you can make the pain seem better without trying, imagine what you’re capable of when you really focus on it. Reiki practitioners do focus on it, successfully channeling the energy into a healing force. This way, when you are unable to heal yourself, a Reiki practitioner will be able to clear your soul.

Regular Reiki Exercises for Reiki Healing

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Once you have received Reiki Attunement, it’s very important for the training process to continue. Many feel that they are automatically healers once they have received Reiki Attunement. However, Reiki is like any other skill.

It must be honed through consistent, committed training. The reason for the Attunement is to activate the chakra to enable access to Reiki energy in order to channel it. If this is not followed up with training, the chakra becomes inactive, which means that the energy cannot be accessed properly. The more you train, the stronger a healer you will be.

You should take at least 20 minutes each day to meditate and allow the channeling of the Reiki energy into your body. Everyone has different meditation routines. However, if you sit down, the Universal energy can enter through your crown chakra, permeate your body and move down to Mother Earth. This energy makes it easier to enter a meditative trance.

Following your meditation, your body will be highly energized. Your physical body cannot process an overload of spiritual energy. Therefore, you should perform a grounding exercise. Simply have the intention that excess energy will leave your body and be grounded to Mother Earth. Thus, you’ll have balanced your spiritual and physical energy.

A proficient Reiki healer needs to perform a daily self-healing exercise. When this self-healing is performed, it is actually cleaning the energy channel. The more uncluttered the energy channel is, the more effective the healer is.

Reiki training should never be considered a chore or drudgery. Instead, they should be simple and fun to do. The benefits you will get are amazing as long as you do the training with your heart filled with unconditional love. The reason for this is unconditional love is the best form of energy to connect you directly with The Source.

When you make the commitment to become the best Reiki healer that you can be, these daily exercises will be something you look forward to performing. You will become much more energized and will feel stronger as well as more peaceful. Each day that you perform your training exercises will help you to be a stronger healer and you’ll feel yourself becoming more of an effective Reiki healer.
