Reiki is a healing practice that combines the spiritual and physical. It’s helped many to conquer health problems as well as successfully manage stress. Reiki first became known for healing at the end of the last century and is becoming more widespread today.
To learn the art of Reiki and become a Reiki Master, you must complete three levels. They are The First Degree, The Second Degree, and The Third Degree, which is also the Master/Teacher level.
When you study the First Degree Reiki level, you’ll learn what Reiki is, its history, and the different Reiki systems used today. At the completion of this level, you’ll be initiated into Reiki and given your first Reiki Attunement.
The Reiki Attunement teaches you how to tune into Reiki energy and use it for healing. You’ll be initiated by lying on your stomach or back as a practitioner or Master puts hands on your body starting at your head and proceeding to your toes at approximately the traditional chakra locations. Energy flows into your body from the Master’s hands. There are many home and online courses that provide Reiki training, but you should actually receive the Attunement in person. When you have received the Attunement, you’ll begin learning how to use Reiki on others.
When you reach Second Degree Reiki, you’ll start learning about distance healing. This involves being able to channel Reiki energies to a person located in another town or country. This type of energy has a higher portion from the Source and a lower portion of Chi than with Frist Degree Reiki. The Second Degree offers healing on spiritual, emotional and mental levels, while First Degree Reiki focuses on physical healing.
Once you have advanced to the Third Degree level, you’ll start to learn about the Reiki symbols, what they mean and how to use them. You’ll learn different ways to manage stress using drums and crystals. There are sacred mantras you’ll learn and how different energies work. This level teaches you to become a Reiki Master so you can teach others and perform Reiki Attunements.
Many types of workshops are available to teach Reiki. Whichever way you choose, be sure to open yourself up to all Reiki has to offer.
